Carvers & Co

Posted in Cafés

Just around the corner from me is an awesome little restaurant that serves a burger to die for. It is perfectly sloppy and juicy, just the way I like them. Their secret recipe patty is topped with melty vintage cheddar on top of which sits caramelised onion. For their weekend version, a lattice of crispy bacon is added and the burger is served with just enough salad but not too much and comes with a heaping mound of fries. (You can ask for the weekend version on the weekday too!)

What brought me to Carvers & Co was the coffee, that’s always the start for me. Nic, the barista, makes magic and I love their blend named Antihero. While the coffee keeps me coming back, it’s the burger I think about all the time. They have other food, by the way. True to their name, they serve fabulous roasts, the type you have at a big family gathering. Their crunchy battered fish with flaky insides is also rather alluring, served with chips. Douse this with salt and vinegar and it’s perfect.

Carvers & Co is small on the inside, but big on personality. It has that friendly vibe where you can hang out and have a chat with anyone. Sit inside where it’s cool and sheltered from the traffic along East Coast Road or embrace the hustle and bustle by sitting outside and spending some time people watching.

Sarah and Wen, the owners, have got a really sweet spot with Carvers, but not stopping there, they have opened a burger joint at Pasarbella, Suntec City called Wolf Burgers. The burgers there are awesome too! And definately try their salted caramel, peanut butter and pretzel waffle. It is soooooooo good!
